Hi Wolf, thank you very much for your comment & questions. Please find our answers below:
(1) Yes, you can open Communote to your partners. Usage ist not restricted to a certain domain. Further differences are the strong focus on microsharing and collaboration and (soon) the possibility to migrate your hosted Communote system to an in-house installation, if needed.
(2) Yes, files can be attached
(3) Yes, tagging is THE core feature of communote. We support #tags, tagclouds etc.
(4) Yes, you can export any list of messages/notes from Communote to Microsoft Word using the RTF format and print out the result. Before the export you may filter the list by any combination of tag (i.e. client), author (e.g. the customer staff), time (e.g. last week) and blog.
Hope these answers were helpful. Please let us know how you are getting on. Best regards from Dresden/Germany to Sydney.
Currently we are using Yammer within our org/team, yet only people having emails with the same domain name can participate. Communote looks interesting. I have two questions for you:
(1) What’s the difference to Yammer? Could we open up Communote to selected outside participants (i.e. our subcontractors)?
(2) Can (similar to Yammer) files be attached to individual messages?
(3) Can messages be tagged (e.g. with client name)?
(4) Given tags exist, can we print messages for a certain date range (e.g. last month) and take along to face-to-face project meetings with clients?
